    Speaker Bio:

Shana Sweeney's journey into the world of benefits started during her high school years when she encountered a medical emergency while abroad, leading to surgery, a week-long hospital stay, and mountains of paperwork. This experience sparked her interest in understanding the importance of benefits, which she carried forward into her professional career.

From there, she continued focusing on benefits throughout her career working both on the employer side at companies such as Google, Severn Trent Services, and Xactly and the carrier side at Aetna. In parallel with her HR career, Shana was a co-founder of Nuna, a venture-backed company building data analytics solutions that serves 75+ million of the most vulnerable Americans to improve how people use healthcare through data. Now the CHRO of SugarCRM, a private equity backed company, she leads the long term people and culture strategy for the organization, focusing on attracting and retention of high-quality talent; defining efficient and scalable operations; and driving a culture of employee engagement.

Shana has a M.S. in Human Resource Management from Fox School of Business at Temple University, and a B.S. in Politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
